The card game Texas Hold’EM is the most popular casino game by far even in an online casino. Although slightly more complicated than the 5-card poker you will find Texas Hold’EM in all casino environments around the world.
General Information
Texas Hold’EM can have up to 10 players and starts off with a 52-card deck. Texas Hold’EM uses “blinds”, normally only two players pay this “blind” on each hand, while the remaining players play the hand for free; it represents the minimum bet for that round of poker. Only the two players to the left of the dealer pay blinds, the first pays a single blind and the second player pays a double blind. Like the dealer, responsibility to pay the blinds is rotated around the table.
Cards
To start off with each player receives two cards, they are placed face down. The other five cards are then placed face down in the following order; first come “the flop” this is where 3 cards are placed face up, which are common to all players, next follows “the turn” 1 card is dealt which is also common to all players, finally the last card is dealt and placed face up, this is called “the river”.
Bets
The first people to place bets is described in the above paragraph, after which every other player follows with a bet after every card dealt. If players have not bet anything in the first round, then all remaining players must match the bet if the wish to stay in the game, if not they must fold. The player that bet the blind originally has the chance to increase the bet after each player has placed their bet. After all the cards are dealt and all betting has finished, players then show each other their cards to see who takes the pot.
All-in
Unlike other poker games, one unique aspect of Texas Hold’EM is the ability to play All-in, if the game continues after one player has gone “all-in” he will only receive the amount in the pot at the time of going all-in. Players who place the all-in bets do not get kicked out if they get out bet by other players.
