Incredible Place #1: Gianyar and its several waterfalls
Just outside Ubud there’s a small town called Gianyar. There are many impressive waterfalls in the area and they are located in the same spot. One of the famous ones is Kanto Lampo. If you head north from this one you could also discover Goa Rang Reng Waterfall as well as Tibumana Waterfall. While you’re in the area you might want to keep going to visit a Hindu Temple. It’s called Pura Tirta Sudamala.
Incredible Place #2: The North, Munduk and its lakes
The north of Bali is often overlooked even though most of the most impressive spots are located in the north. There are three lakes up there: Danau Tamblingan, Danau Buyan and Danau Beratan. They are known for providing you with great views but also because of Hindu Temple Pura Ulun Danu Buyan. You can also find waterfalls in this area such as Sekumpul Waterfall, Aling-Aling Waterfall and Dedari Waterfall.
In the area you’ll find the town of Munduk, which is a great place to stay while in the area. You can hop around the lookouts or go for a little trekking adventure.
Incredible Place #3: Amed
Amed is a coastal town located in the northeast of Bali. You simply have to look at the photos to realize how gorgeous it is out there. Amed is one of the top destinations in Bali for those who are into scuba diving. If going underwater isn’t your thing, it’s still a cool spot to admire the views or to learn about the traditional salt farming.
Incredible Place #4: Sanur
Sanur is another coastal town but it’s located in the southeast of the island. Known for its beaches and colorful boats, it’s another cool spot to add to your Bali itinerary. If you’re a sunrise sucker you’re going to love this town. It’s also a great destination for watersports such as stand-up paddleboarding, jetskiing or windsurfing. It’s also the departure point to get to the famous Nusa Islands.

There are three Nusa islands: Lembongan, Penida and Ceningan. They are located on the east side of Bali and are accessible by boat. Visiting the Nusa Islands is a great way to enjoy the island vibes as well as the great outdoors. Some of the highlights include the mangrove forest, Mushroom Beach, Devil’s Tear, Dream Beach, the Blue Lagoon, Atuh Beach and Manta Bay.
Incredible Place #6: Mount Batur
Mount Batur is one of the famous volcanoes in Bali. It’s located in the northeast part of the island. It’s also one of the popular hikes that is doable in Bali. Normally people will go for a sunrise hike because there’s nothing better than enjoying the sun rising from a higher perspective. It always feels surreal when you’re climbing a volcano, and let’s be honest, it’s quite a unique way of working out!
