Does the Spivo work with other cameras or is it specific to GoPro® cameras?

The Spivo Stick is designed to mount all cameras, just like a universal tripod. The mounting screw is a standard 1/4"-20 size which allows any action sports camera, compact camera or smart phone using our phone mount to be mounted. The Spivo Stick is compatible and as been field tested with the following sports cameras: Sony Action Cam and Action Cam Mini, Garmin Virb X and Virb XE, Contour +2, Roam 2 and Roam 3, iON Air Pro, Pro 2, Pro 2 Speed Pro, and Pro Lite, WASPcam, Drift HD Ghost, Polaroid Cube and XS100i. Do I have a warranty?

Yes, we guarantee Spivo products to be free of defects in materials and workmanship to the original buyer for the lifetime of the product. This warranty does not cover damage due to misuse or extend to any Spivo products that have been modified.

What's included with my Spivo Stick?

Every Spivo Stick order comes with one Spivo, one wrist strap (lanyard) and one camera mount. For water adventures we highly recommend pairing your Spivo Stick with the Floaty, which is an EVA foam flotation device to protect your investment and your memories. The Floaty is specially designed to keep your Spivo Stick and most cameras afloat. If you are using any other device other than GoPro® cameras, it is recommended to test the buoyancy of the Spivo Stick with the paired camera in a safe environment.

Why does the Spivo rotate only 180 degrees?

Today's cameras, especially action sports cameras, have a wide angle lens designed to capture a field of view of up to 170 degrees. This means that with the simple click of a button and a slight tilt in your wrist, you can now capture the full 360 degrees of action going on around you.

Since the Spivo was designed with action sports enthusiasts in mind, we decided to focus on this 180 degree instant rotation rather than a variable rotation controlled by a toggle (or "pan and tilt") which require a lot more user attention. All you have to do is decide whether you want to film yourself or the action happening in front of you. This results in incredible, captivating video which requires little to no post processing. Less editing, more Spivoing!

Finally, we found that shots captured using the Spivo Stick looked way better and required far less editing to create tangible storylines than a "pan and tilt" style camera mount or stick. Check out our footage and decide for yourself!

How durable is my Spivo?

The Spivo Stick has been carefully engineered to ensure it is tough enough to withstand the demands of today's action sports enthusiasts. The exterior housings of the Spivo are made from the highest quality polymers (the kind of stuff they use to make bulletproof glass). Meanwhile, the internal mechanism is constructed from high-grade, low-friction materials to maximize durability and minimize wear. We've extensively tested the Spivo Stick to ensure it can handle the harsh environments you plan on using it in.

What is the weight limit on cameras attached to the Spivo?

The Spivo works with any action sports camera, compact camera or mobile phone. The internal mechanisms are designed to make these devices rotate quickly and without vibration. Heavier devices such as DSLR cameras should not be used as the weight may damage your Spivo.

Is the Spivo Stick extendable or telescopic?

The Spivo Stick is not extendable or telescopic for many reasons. The one-piece construction of the Spivo Stick has much less moving parts and mechanisms than other sticks. This ensures the Spivo Stick is as strong as possible, all the while being extremely light. In fact, the Spivo Stick weighs as much as the average smartphone or iPhone. Furthermore, as there are fewer moving parts, many enthusiasts see this as an advantages since sand, dust, dirt and snow can often compromise a sticks extendable ability. The Spivo Stick also does not require any setup, which can often be the difference between getting that epic shot, or not.
